Privacy Policy

Last updated 8 October 2026

Floatdesk does not collect any data about you. We have no accounts, no servers that receive your screen, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. This policy explains what the apps do on your own devices.

Your Mac and iPhone talk only to each other

The Floatdesk Mac app shows your Mac's screen and the windows you choose on your paired iPhone. The two devices find each other on your local network (Bonjour) and connect directly over your Wi-Fi, encrypted with TLS. Nothing passes through us or anyone else, and nothing needs the internet.

You pair an iPhone once by scanning a code shown on your Mac. You can remove a paired iPhone in the Mac app at any time. The Mac asks before it shares a window or screen, and before the iPhone may control it.

Permissions and why

Diagnostics stay on your devices

To help fix problems, the apps keep performance and connection logs on your devices (for example frame timings, temperature, battery level and network round trips). They never include your screen contents, what you type, your clipboard or window titles. The logs are not sent anywhere. If you choose Export diagnostics, iOS shows the share sheet and you decide where the file goes.

Purchases

Floatdesk Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your payment details. The app only learns which plan you own, from Apple, on your device.

Children

Floatdesk does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. If Floatdesk ever starts collecting data, we will say so here and in the App Store privacy details before it happens.
